The Film

Somewhere outside of time, there's an apartment with a portal in the closet, and the people who work there kill Ghost Faces for a living. It is a terrible job. There is no dental.

Randy 84D has worked there for nine years and run 612 missions, and not one of them counted. His actual job is finding the dangerous ones on a screen and then watching somebody else go handle them.

Gale Weathers wrote this place into existence. She's the author, the only one who can still write a different ending. Gale has been missing for five years now, which is why her books on the shelf are quietly going blank, and Danny's cult members are closing in on every Sidney that's left. The whole job fits on an index card: protect Sidney, kill anything in a Ghost Face mask that isn't supposed to exist, find Gale.

Every mask you remember. Every rule you thought kept you safe. A killer who has been doing this longer than any other, a cult that does not stop coming, and one horror obsessive who has watched this exact situation a thousand times and has never once had to survive it. Time's almost up.

Production is currently in progress as we continue raising the funds needed to complete the film. Every donation helps us improve the production, support the cast and crew, build better props, create stronger visuals, and bring the next Stab movie to life.

Deleted Scenes & Trivia

Trivia

The subtitle Clock of Doom is the one StabMovies.com dropped from their Stab 5 in 2011, along with its time travel storyline. Sixteen years later both are back.

That makes two in a row. The 2024 film took back the Knife of Doom subtitle abandoned in 2010, and this one takes back Clock of Doom abandoned in 2011.

Gale Weathers, played by Jamie-Lynn Hazzard in Stab 4: Knife of Doom, sits at the center of the story as the missing author whose writing made this world.

  • Dudley kept time travel for Stab 5 because the Scream movies say the Stab 5 movie has time travel. In his Stab 4 commentary he says he was sticking to what Scream said, even knowing some fans wouldn't like the Stab 4 ending.
  • Clock of Doom is the subtitle StabMovies.com dropped from their Stab 5 in 2011. In February 2017 Joshua Patrick Dudley explained that the 2011 film had no time travel because it was written before Scream 4 came out, and Scream 4 is where they learned Stab 5 was supposed to have it. This film brings back the title and adds the time travel.
  • The StabMovies.com page opens with a mock tracking screen labeled RAiNDY v2.6, showing a Ghostface multiversal tracking feed, membrane integrity and a dimensional breach warning. RAiNDY is also the name of one of Joshua Patrick Dudley's two characters.
  • Production was paused on August 5, 2026. The later homepage and film page describe production as in progress, with a planned 2027 release.
  • The film page's main image is a photo of Emilee Powell.
  • Kaytee Houghton's character is named Gail Hailstorm, while Gale Weathers is the missing author the story revolves around.
  • On a podcast recorded just before Stab 4 came out in October 2024, someone said everyone on the panel would be back for Stab 5. The panel was Kristen Wood, Emilee Powell, Erika Otte, Henry Columbare and an extra named Stefan. Kristen Wood is not on the current Stab 5 cast list.

Connections

  • Follows Stab 4: Knife of Doom (2024), which ends with the Agent taking young Gale Weathers and baby Sidney through a time portal. Joshua Patrick Dudley played the Agent in that ending and is credited as The Agent here. Gale, the heroine of that film, is at the center of this story as the missing author. Dylan Teague played Young Danny in Stab 4 and plays Danny here. Nicole Linton returns as Onyx and Emilee Powell as Melanie. Erika Otte played Kinsley in the Stab 4 cult scene and is credited as Kinsley again here.
  • Returning Stab 4 cast in new roles: Corey Dudley, Joshua Patrick Dudley, Erika Otte, Henry Columbare, Shannon Elaine Sweeney, Samantha Kenney, Kaytee Houghton and David Afflick.
  • In Stab 3: Holiday Horror, Henry Columbare played Mason Kennedy and Erika Otte played Kinsley Reed. Here their characters are Mason / Doofy and Mandy (Randy 467) / Kinsley.
  • Dave Allen was one of the people interviewed for StabMovies.com: Behind the Mask (2020). He was also cast as Ronnie Hewes / Duncan in Stab 7 (2017), which was shut down.
  • Takes back the Clock of Doom subtitle dropped from Stab 5 (2011).

The story was set up at the end of Stab 4: Knife of Doom (2024). In his Stab 4 commentary Joshua Patrick Dudley says the first night of shooting that film's opening scene also included a little filming for Stab 5. He wouldn't say what it was.

In the commentary, posted January 23, 2025, Dudley said Stab 5: Clock of Doom would go into production shortly and that he was writing the script. He said it would have time travel with a multiverse approach, more portals, a lot of crazy Ghost Faces and a lot of Gale, and that more would be explained then.

On May 14, 2025 StabMovies.com announced that Stab 5 was delayed while they tried to raise money to make it. The post said crowdfunding had failed them several times and asked fans to donate through the site.

On June 6, 2026 the site said the cast had finished their promotional photo shoots in character, and pointed fans to Instagram for images and previews.

On August 5, 2026 production was paused. A number of cast and crew left the film, including Jamie-Lynn Hazzard, who played Gale Weathers in Stab 4: Knife of Doom. Joshua Patrick Dudley said he would rewrite the screenplay and rebuild the production around people who want to make a movie, and the site did not expect the pause to last long. That post has since been taken off the news page, but the same update is still summed up on the Stab Movies page of StabMovies.com, and the homepage still links to it.

The StabMovies.com site relaunched on August 13, 2026. Its homepage lists Stab 5 as filming now and out in 2027, filming through early October, and free when it lands.

The film page says production is still going while they raise the money to finish it. Donations go toward the production, the cast and crew, better props and stronger visuals.

Props and costumes

On May 8, 2026 the site announced it finally had retractable Buck 120 replica knives, from Kaltec 3D on Etsy, after fifteen years of searching and asking prop makers. The site has not said whether they appear in Stab 5.
