StabMovies.com’s Stab Movies

StabMovies.com started in 2010 as a fan site built around the Stab movies, the films inside the Scream films. Joshua Patrick Dudley founded it, and he has written, directed and acted in almost everything it has made. The YouTube channel went live on June 24, 2010. The site calls itself an independent horror website and fan film universe, and every film has always been free to watch.

Joshua started JDuDs Productions in Manchester, New Hampshire in 2007, according to the fan wiki, because he wanted to spend more time making things with his friends. He brought in his best friend Rachel Alexandria Arnold as his partner. The two had been friends since high school. The company motto is "If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right." Casts have always come from friends, co-workers, friends of friends and family.

Outside the Stab films Joshua is a published author. Amazon and his own biography describe him as an author, actor, model, recording artist and independent filmmaker born and raised in New Hampshire. His pre-teen novel Lost in Oz and its sequels Rise of the Dark Wizard and Temple of the Deadly Desert make up the Lost in Oz trilogy, and he followed it with Lost in Wonderland and a Guardians of Oz series. The fan wiki lists a Lost in Oz movie among JDuDs Productions projects, never made.

Current auditions require actors to be over 21. No acting experience is required, but actors receive no pay and must cover their own travel and know their lines. Auditions usually open about a year before a shoot. Joshua writes every film, and he makes the posters and the website himself. The site's FAQ puts it simply: Joshua and a ton of his friends make these movies.

When the site first launched it had its own made-up backstory, where StabMovies.com had taken over the Stab movies from Sunrise Studios, the studio behind Stab in the Scream films. The site later took those references down. Its history page says the Stab 4 through Stab 7 count came from the rumor, before Scream 4 was out, that the Scream films had reached Stab 7. It skipped Stab 1 through 3 because they would only be poor remakes of the Scream films.

Scream 4 came out the next spring and revealed that seven Stab movies had been made inside the Scream world. StabMovies.com had already picked up the count at number four. Stab 4: Fresh Blood was shot around Manchester and Bedford, New Hampshire, on a FLIP Mino pocket camcorder. Horror Society reported in August 2010 that filming was nearly done and that the film would debut on StabMovies.com in HD on October 10, 2010, with an original score by Isaias Garcia. The six YouTube parts carry upload dates from September 30 to October 7, 2010.

Joshua won a trip to the Hollywood premiere of Scream 4 in April 2011, and the site says he went representing StabMovies.com. He made sure to shake hands with Wes Craven there, and the two later chatted on Twitter. He also met composer Marco Beltrami that night.

Stab 5 came out on June 24, 2011, the channel's first anniversary. It changed the series for good. The cast of Stab 4 now played versions of themselves, and StabMovies.com itself became part of the story, with Joshua and his producer Rachel Alexandria Arnold making a new Stab film while Ghost Face picked off their actors. The film had first been written as Stab 5: Clock of Doom, a time travel story, before that idea was dropped.

Stab 6: Ghostface Returns followed in 2012. Horror Society announced it on April 15, 2012, with filming set to start April 29 and wrap at the end of July. Joshua told them it was the best script he had written yet. The film put the cast on a Stab themed reality competition show. The same year StabMovies.com put out the Trifecta of Terror, three short films: Stabbed, The Gates and Bloodlines.

Then came the Stab 7 curse. Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter went into production in 2013 and was shut down after lead actress Stephanie Maheu quit without notice. Every scene that had been shot was released. A new version, simply called Stab 7, went into casting in June 2015 and ran for more than two years. Actors moved out of state, Mandi Russell quit, and locations backed out. On October 1, 2017 that version was shut down too, under the hashtag #STAB7ISCURSED, and on October 18, 2017 everything that had been filmed went up.

In between, the site kept busy. In 2015 it launched 12 Months of Terror, a plan for one holiday short film every month. New Year's Resolution, True Love, Thursday the 12th, Stabbed 2 and Cinco came out before the run stopped in May. Joshua and Rachel were booked for FantaCon in Albany, New York and Weekend of Horrors in Bottrop, Germany. A short film with Wes Craven, Stabbed 3, was set to shoot at YouTube Space L.A. that fall, but Craven died on August 30, 2015, about two weeks before filming.

After the second Stab 7 fell apart, StabMovies.com unveiled a new logo on August 3, 2017 and said it was moving away from Ghost Face toward original content. Mark Haggett's Lake House Whisper, made with Deadly Sin Productions, premiered in March 2018. The site's first original feature, announced in 2016 as Wifey and renamed Theta, started filming on September 1, 2017. It was shut down on June 29, 2018 after almost 30 actors quit and the production lost over $5,000. Swipe Left was made on the spot on a day the Theta cast did not show up.

By September 21, 2019 the site said plainly that actors kept quitting and had cost thousands of dollars, which forced it to shut down three movies in a row. It turned to other work: script books for every film, the Scream: Duality video comic, and a documentary. That documentary, StabMovies.com: Behind the Mask, premiered on the tenth anniversary, June 24, 2020, as a nine hour look back at a decade of Stab on YouTube.

On July 11, 2019 the site asked fans whether it should reboot Stab. It did. Auditions opened June 20, 2020. Nine days later StabMovies.com explained that Fun World, which had given it permission to use Ghost Face for Stab 4 through Stab 7, had signed a contract with Spyglass that stopped it from granting that permission to anyone. The reboot got a new mask and a new killer called The Ghost. Filming was already under way when the site announced it on September 9, 2020, and it wrapped October 20. Stab came out on Thanksgiving, November 26, 2020.

The reboot became a new run with a film almost every year. Stab 2 (2022) went back to the meta idea, with the 2020 cast playing themselves. It reached YouTube channel members on October 12, 2022 and everyone on October 30. Stab 3: Holiday Horror, a Christmas film shot in the New Hampshire snow, came out on September 30, 2023. Stab 4: Knife of Doom, a 1980s summer camp prequel starring Jamie-Lynn Hazzard as a 21 year old Gale Weathers, came out on October 10, 2024.

In January 2022 the site found its own Stab 7 logo, with the 7 removed and the color turned red, in the Paramount release of Scream, on Tara's phone in the opening scene and on the TV showing Stab: The True Story. The site has since built a large store of screen accurate replicas of the Stab posters, Blu-ray covers and books seen in the Scream films, along with screen used props from its own productions.

Stab 5: Clock of Doom is the current film. It takes back the time travel story and the subtitle dropped in 2011. The story is set in an apartment outside of time where the staff kill Ghost Faces for a living and look for Gale Weathers, who has been missing for five years. Production was delayed on May 14, 2025 while the site raised money, after crowdfunding had failed more than once. The cast shot promotional photos in character on June 6, 2026. On August 5, 2026 production was paused after several cast and crew left, including Jamie-Lynn Hazzard, and Joshua said he would rewrite the script. The home page in September 2026 says filming runs through early October with release in 2027.

As of September 2026 the home page counts 25,164,437 views on YouTube and says StabMovies.com has made about one film a year since 2010. The YouTube channel page itself showed 25,245,348 views, 35.5K subscribers and 430 videos on September 17, 2026, with a join date of June 24, 2010. Its description says StabMovies.com re-creates the movies inside the Scream movies, the Stab movies, for free online viewing. The Instagram account @stabmovies has about 11,700 followers. The site was rebuilt by hand in August 2026, and it now also holds a Ghost Face archive covering sixteen years of mask history and a recreation of the Sunrise Studios website from Scream 3.

The fan wiki splits the films into two runs. The original franchise covers Stab 4: Fresh Blood through the 2017 Stab 7, a chain of "real life" killings around the Stab 4 cast. The reboot franchise starts with Stab in 2020, and the wiki calls it an anthology. The wiki also notes that most fans treat Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter as outside canon and follow the 2017 Stab 7 instead.

In June 2026 StabMovies.com announced a partnership with Paranormal Activity: A New Story Live on Stage, the stage show headed to Broadway. Videos posted June 18, 19 and 25 promised free ticket giveaways, live opening night coverage, interviews and behind the scenes content. Joshua and the team sat front row at the Boston opening night at the Emerson Colonial Theatre on July 15, 2026 and met the stars. The channel ran a live stream on July 7, 2026.

The site's history page adds up every Stab film, counting the ones inside the Scream films and StabMovies.com's own. It comes to 19 with alternate versions, 18 without the unfinished Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro, and 16 without StabMovies.com's two failed versions of Stab 7. The same page once said Clock of Doom would come out February 27, 2026, the same day as Scream 7. A later version of the film page said October 31, 2026. Neither date held, and the film is now listed for 2027.

Money has shaped every step. The site pays for its films out of pocket and asks fans to donate through PayPal and Cash App. Donors get credit in the next movie: a thank you for $1 to $99, associate producer for $100 to $199, producer for $200 to $999, and executive producer for $1,000 or more. It also started selling sponsorships to brands. The films are never sold on DVD or Blu-ray. They are made to be watched free online.

Lore and rules

The series starts at number four. The Scream films already contained Stab through Stab 3, and Scream 4 revealed seven Stab movies. StabMovies.com began with its own Stab 4 in 2010. The fan wiki says it skipped a Stab 3 because it did not want to remake Scream 3. Stab 6: Ghostface Returns has the same title as the Stab 6 in the Scream films.

Stab 4: Fresh Blood is a straight slasher inside a world where the Stab movies exist. The question is whether someone has taken their love of Stab one step too far.

Stab 5 turns it into reality within a reality. The actors play versions of themselves, and StabMovies.com makes the Stab films inside the story. That carries through Stab 6 and both versions of Stab 7. The time travel first planned for Stab 5 was dropped because the script was written before Scream 4.

Stab 6 adds a book and a TV show. Kylie Scott's Manchester Massacre drives a new Stab 5, cast through a reality show. In Stab 7 Kylie has a sequel, Rachel has made both into Stab 5 and Stab 6 with mixed reviews, Rachel has lost the rights, and a rival Stab TV series about Sarah Campbell's daughter is about to air. Most Stab 7 actors play a real person and that person's TV counterpart.

The two Stab 7 films do not agree. Knife of the Hunter is set two years after the last attack, with Joshua dead and back as a ghost. The later Stab 7 is set five years after Stab 6. Both came out as unfinished footage, and the site counts three versions of Stab 7, two of them abandoned.

The 2020 reboot wipes the slate. The meta setup is gone, the story follows Claire Matthews, and the killer is The Ghost, not Ghost Face. Fun World's contract with Spyglass kept StabMovies.com from using Ghost Face. The fan wiki calls the reboot run an anthology.

Stab 2 (2022) brings the meta idea back inside the reboot. The 2020 cast play themselves after the reboot's release, a second group plays their movie counterparts, and Kylie Scott returns from the original run.

Stab 3: Holiday Horror is a standalone Christmas story whose subtitle plays on the Hollywood Horror of the Scream films. Kylie Scott appears again.

Stab 4: Knife of Doom is the first period film. It is set in 1986 and makes Gale Weathers from Scream its lead, before Woodsboro. Ghost Face is back as a local urban legend.

Stab 5: Clock of Doom ties the branches together. Gale wrote a world into being and only she can write a different ending. Agents with names like Randy 84D, Randy 39X, Randy 88 and Randy 467 kill Ghost Faces that are not supposed to exist, protect every Sidney and hunt Danny's cult. Mason and Kinsley from Stab 3 and Melanie, Onyx and Danny from Knife of Doom return.

Recurring subtitles come back. Knife of Doom was dropped in 2010 and used in 2024. Clock of Doom was dropped in 2011 and is in use for 2027.

Knives: Stab 4 and Stab 5 were shot with a real Buck 119. From Stab 6 on the films used replica Buck 120s from Pop's Props. In 2026 the site found retractable Buck 120 replicas again.

The Stabbed shorts share one rule: a prank goes badly wrong. The unmade Stabbed 3 turned the prank on Joshua himself.

Actors cross between runs in new parts. Hannah Madison went from Barbara O'Malley, as the site lists her in Stab 7, to Claire Matthews. Leila Bafageeh went from Stabbed to Sarah Campbell. Mia Gaudette went from Movie Hannah to Kylie Scott. Jamie-Lynn Hazzard went from Harper Evans to Gale Weathers.

The fan wiki keeps an in-story timeline for the original run, based on the 2017 Stab 7. In 2010 Joshua is announced as the new writer and director of Stab 4, which has a killer opening weekend. Before Stab 5, Alicia Vigeant and Marcel Robinson die in a drunk driving crash after the Stab 4 premiere party and Brett Mallard dies of a heart attack. After Stab 5, Jennifer goes into hiding, the Stab 5 shoot is shut down and Kylie publishes Manchester Massacre. Rachel releases her own Stab 5 in 2013, the same year as Manchester Massacre 2, and her Stab 6 in 2014, which fails. In 2015 Stab 7 goes on hold and Shannon is killed. In 2016 Rachel loses the rights, eTV buys them and Stab: The TV Series is announced. The 2017 killings follow.

Rachel loses the Stab rights in Stab 7 because a legal document of Joshua's turns up, per the fan wiki. That is what opens the door to the eTV series.

Stab: The TV Series is set eighteen years after Stab 4: Fresh Blood. Sarah Campbell is dead and her daughter Tarah takes the lead. So the in-story Stab 4 is treated as a real event in the TV show's world, the way Stab treats Woodsboro.

The meta runs a layer deeper in Stab 7. Most actors play an actor on the TV show and that actor's TV role, like Grace Paratore as Nora Walker playing Tarah Campbell and Mark Haggett as Brody Nichols playing Ace. Some TV deaths were never filmed. Joshua cut Mercedes's death once he saw most of the show's characters would be dead in the first episode.

Joshua's fate changes by version. Stab 6 kills him. Knife of the Hunter reveals he staged it for hidden cameras and fooled Rachel with a hologram. The 2017 Stab 7 keeps him dead and turns him into an app on Rachel's phone that suggests mashing Ghost Face with other horror icons.

Every killer reveal in the original run has a partner. Stab 4 has three killers, Stab 5 has two plus Joshua, Stab 6 has Chason, Hayden, Donna, Corey and the Rachel and Kylie pair behind them, and Stab 7 has two killers working against each other. The fan wiki says each original film opens with two gory murders.

The reboot swaps the knife for fear of a ghost. The Ghost fades in and out on screen. The finale explains it with holograms, Halloween projectors and fog machines, and makes the motive about Claire's mother's drug dealing instead of movie fandom.

Stab 2 (2022) plays like Stab 5 did, in what the fan wiki calls heightened reality. Its questions are whether the horror movie rules still apply and whether Joshua stole the reboot from a real Claire Matthews.

Names from the Scream films run through the series. Will Kennison, writer of Stab 2 in Scream 2, becomes the TV killer in Stab 7. Gale Weathers leads Knife of Doom and sits at the center of Clock of Doom. Clock of Doom adds characters named Jennifer Jolie, the actress who plays Gale in the Stab films inside Scream, plus a Gail Hailstorm and a staff of Randys.

The Buck 120 is the series' rule for the weapon. The fan wiki lists it as Ghost Face's most common knife across the Scream Stab films and StabMovies.com's own, including the reboot. StabMovies.com spent years on getting it right, from a real Buck 119 in the first two films to Pop's Props replicas, a 2020 unboxing video, Burkbench Designs knives for the reboot and Stab 2, and retractable replicas in 2026.

The shorts sit outside the Stab story but share its people. Stabbed and Stabbed 2 use Ghost Face played by Joshua. Nicole Ward, Cara Shields, Leila Bafageeh, Chris Dube, Mark Haggett, Nicole Linton and Lindsey Klossner all cross between the shorts and the Stab films.

The site has tried to explain its own layers. In Stab 4 the Stab movies were real movies. In Stab 5 the Stab movies were not real and the Scream movies were, which the FAQ admits does not make much sense for a Stab movie. The idea is a new Stab universe where the Scream movies are like the Stab movies, based on real events. The site says it has since settled on calling them all Stab.

The time travel rule. Scream 4 revealed that the Stab 5 inside Scream had time travel. StabMovies.com's first Stab 5 skipped it because the script came first, and the FAQ also calls it too cheesy and too expensive. The site loved one unused idea, seeing different Ghost Face masks through the ages, and promised the rebooted Stab 5 would have time travel. The Clock of Doom page answers the question with: Yes, it has time travel.

Clock of Doom is the second StabMovies.com Stab film set inside the Scream universe, after Knife of Doom, and the film page says it picks up right where Knife of Doom left off.

The fan wiki keeps a list of unofficial killers alongside the real ones. For Stab 6 it names Corey Waters, Rachel Arnold and Kylie Scott, who were not Ghost Face but helped steer the murders. For Knife of the Hunter it marks Hadley Jordan and Kellen Rice as unofficial, and for Stab 7 it does the same for Brody Nichols and Will Kennison.

Stab 7 has two killers of its own and a third inside the TV show. Brody is Rachel's Ghost Face in mashup costumes. Will Kennison is the TV Ghost Face in real life. On the show itself, the killer is Ace, the boyfriend Brody plays, though the show never got to reveal it.

None of the films were sold or shown for money. Every film is free. The channel's total YouTube views were 10 million by June 2013, over 18 million by January 2015, 20 million on October 31, 2016, 22 million on September 23, 2019, 25,164,437 on the home page counter in September 2026, and 25,245,348 on the channel page on September 17, 2026. Subscribers passed 5,000 by June 2013, 16,000 in June 2015 and 18,000 in August 2016, and the channel page showed 35.5K on September 17, 2026. Stab 4 Part 4 of 6 alone has 16,695,547 views. The only budgets on record come from the fan wiki: $250 for Stab 4: Fresh Blood, $2,500 for Theta, $2,500 for Lake House Whisper and $5,000 for the 2020 reboot.

Rights and business

StabMovies.com makes fan films and original material for non-commercial entertainment. The site says it is not endorsed by, affiliated with or authorized by Miramax, Dimension Films, The Weinstein Company, Spyglass Media, MTV or Fun World, and that Ghost Face is a registered trademark of Fun World Div., Easter Unlimited, Inc. The copyright line reads 2010 to 2026, Joshua Patrick Dudley.

For years StabMovies.com said it was the only fan film maker with Fun World's permission to use the Ghost Face mask, provided the films were not monetized. That covered Stab 4 through Stab 7. Fun World sent its new Devil Face mask for Stab 7 in February 2017, and the site said the mask was first named Ghost Face Devil before RJ Torbet renamed it Devil Face to set it apart from the Ghost Face line.

On June 29, 2020 the site said Fun World had signed a contract with Spyglass that stopped it from giving anyone permission to use Ghost Face in fan films, and that Fun World asked StabMovies.com to drop the mask from its reboot. The site said relations with Fun World stayed good and warned that unauthorized use could lead to takedowns or legal action. The reboot used a new mask. Ghost Face is back by name in Stab 2 and Knife of Doom, and the sources do not say how permission changed.

In January 2022 the Stab 7 logo StabMovies.com designed, minus the 7 and turned red, appeared in Paramount's Scream on Tara's phone and on a TV. No legal dispute over it is recorded.

Money has always been tight. The site ran PayPal and YouTube donations for Stab 7 in 2015, an Amazon wish list in 2016, a Stab 2 gear drive in 2022, an Indiegogo campaign for Stab 3 in 2022, and Cash App in 2023. YouTube channel memberships started February 15, 2022. On May 14, 2025 it said crowdfunding had failed it multiple times. Clock of Doom is paid for out of pocket and by donations.

Actors walking out cost real money. Theta lost over $5,000. By 2019 the site said quitters had cost thousands of dollars and shut down three movies in a row. Much of the crew has worked for free.

The store sells screen used props and costumes from each production, starting with the 2017 warehouse sale and continuing through eBay in 2018, Stab 2 in 2022, Stab 3 in 2023 and Stab 4 in 2024. It also sells screen accurate replicas of the Stab posters, Blu-ray covers, costume packaging, Kylie Scott's books and the Gale Weathers REQUEL cover from the Scream films. Shirts and other goods sold through TeeSpring, TeePublic from 2022, Redbubble from 2020 and Mercari from 2025.

Every screenplay is published through Lulu and sold at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Books-a-Million, with ebooks. The first editions came out in 2018 and 2019. New editions with forewords, photos and cast interviews followed in 2019. Goodreads lists a 162 page Stab 6 paperback from December 10, 2018, and the 2019 edition from October 27, 2019 runs 236 pages.

JDuDs Productions, founded in Manchester, New Hampshire in 2007 according to the fan wiki, is Joshua's production company. In 2018 its Facebook page and the StabMovies.com page absorbed more than 20 single-film pages. Joshua and Rachel also acted in Honeydew, directed by Devereux Milburn, which the site said in March 2020 was headed to the Tribeca Film Festival. IMDb dates its release March 12, 2021. Joshua played Thin Young Man and Rachel played Funeral Singer.

YouTube channel memberships launched February 15, 2022 as Official Stabbers. The perks listed were members-only videos, member shout-outs, priority replies to comments and early access to new videos. Stab 2 went to members on October 12, 2022, nineteen days before everyone else, and the Stab 7 re-release storyboard scene was members only at first.

In June 2026 StabMovies.com announced a partnership with Paranormal Activity: A New Story Live on Stage, running ticket giveaways and covering opening night in Boston on July 15, 2026. The site also works with prop and costume makers: Burkbench Designs, called a partner in 2021, @screamrobes, which sells a StabMovies.com version of its Ghost Face robe, and Kaltec 3D for knives.

Replica work grew into its own line. In September 2022 Joshua remade the posters for Stab 1 through 8 as seen in the Scream films with correct cast and crew listings, then updated the posters for StabMovies.com's own films. The line added the Scream VI Stabathon shirts in March 2023, Father Death and Stab costume packaging in March 2024, Scream 6 Stab posters, costume card and killer photos in January 2026, updated posters and Blu-ray covers in February 2026, and Scream 7 Stab posters in March 2026. The home page says every sale funds the next film.

Joshua and Rachel said in August 2018 that Honeydew, their first major motion picture, would be seen in theaters or on Netflix. In March 2020 the site said it was headed to Tribeca.

The site sells its scores. The Stab 4: Fresh Blood score by Isaias M. Garcia and the Stab 5 score by Milen Petzelt-Sorace were $15 downloads. Joshua's two Stab 6 songs were $3. Seth Hise's Stab 3: Holiday Horror score is on Bandcamp. The site says none of its music, video or images may be used in anyone else's productions.

The Partners page lists @screamrobes, a knife maker listed as @brukbenchdesigns, @jose.sepulveda.7712, @nightfirefx, @lambententertainment and @newrulefx, and invites costume and prop makers to get involved.

Donation rewards give credits in the next film: a special thank you for $1 to $99, associate producer for $100 to $199, producer for $200 to $999 and executive producer for $1,000 and up. A sponsorship page offers brands website placement, co-branded content, social media features and newsletter spots.

Nothing is sold as a film. The FAQ says the movies are made for free online viewing, paid for with the team's own money, and are not available on DVD or Blu-ray. The store does not sell masks.

• Stab 6 started filming April 29, 2012 and was set to wrap at the end of July. Dudley called it the best script he had written yet. He told Horror Society that Stab 4 and Stab 5 leaned into how cheesy the Stab films should be, and this time he asked actors to play real people.

• 12 Months of Terror was announced December 22, 2014 and in a press release on January 13, 2015. Joshua said the idea came from a long talk with Rachel Arnold about trying other areas of horror. The slogan was that fans should have a horror movie for every holiday.
• New Year's Resolution premiered at midnight on New Year's Eve 2014. Thursday the 12th premiered March 13, 2015, a Friday the 13th. It was filmed on location in Hollywood and made because fans had asked for a Friday the 13th film for years. Stabbed 2 premiered April 1, 2015.
• Horror Society's June 2015 casting article said Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter went into production in 2013 and was shut down for undisclosed reasons. In August 2017 the site said it was shut down after lead actress Stephanie Maheu quit without notice.

• The Devil Face and Skele Face masks came from the same artist who designed the Zombie and Scarecrow Ghost Face masks. Devil Face started as Ghost Face Devil. R. J. Torbert renamed it to set it apart from the Ghost Face line.
• Theta started life as a project called Wifey. It was renamed on February 17, 2017. Filming began September 1, 2017 as StabMovies.com's first full-length original film.
• Theta went on hiatus December 31, 2017 and was shut down for good June 29, 2018. Almost 30 actors had quit, and the site had lost over $5,000 to actors not showing up. The final rough cut came out April 10, 2019, credited as directed by Joshua Patrick Dudley and Rachel Alexandria Arnold.
• Swipe Left was filmed on the spot when most of the Theta cast did not show up for the sorority house shoot. It premiered October 19, 2018.
• Lake House Whisper, announced for March 30, 2018 and posted a day early on March 29, was the first StabMovies.com film not written or directed by Joshua or Rachel. Mark Haggett wrote and directed it with new partners Deadly Sin Productions. Mark Haggett also wrote and directed the short Santa's Naughty List, posted January 20, 2022.
• On September 21, 2019 the site said the Stab movies were mostly dead. Actors kept quitting, three productions in a row were shut down, and thousands of dollars were lost. The same post mentioned a sitcom in the works called I Love Lou C.
• In October 2019 the site said many actors had turned down interviews for Behind the Mask. Anyone missing from it refused, rather than was not asked.
• Christmas Wish finally came out November 23, 2019. Scheduling conflicts meant Joshua Patrick Dudley played every part himself.
• The Gates was StabMovies.com's second short film ever. It was re-released with new edits and effects on April 26, 2020.
• The reboot was floated on July 11, 2019 with #RebootStab. On June 7, 2020 the site confirmed it would go ahead with a new mask. The June 20, 2020 casting call asked for more diversity and actors closer to their 30s.
• Michael Chaisson became the new killer voice in June 2020. The site said he does a fantastic Ghost Face impression. He voiced The Ghost in the reboot and Ghost Face in Stab 2, and was set to return for the Stab 7 re-release.
• Stab 2 is the first StabMovies.com film since the 2020 reboot to use Ghost Face again.
• Sources give different public dates for Stab 2. The October 12, 2022 member post said it would go public October 31, 2022. The Now Streaming post and the YouTube upload are both dated October 30, 2022.
• The March 15, 2023 post and the teaser trailer said Stab 3 would premiere October 1, 2023. It went up a day early, on September 30, 2023. IMDb lists its release as October 1, 2023. Its full movie has over 437,000 views, third among the full Stab movies on the channel behind Stab 5 and Stab 6.
• As of September 17, 2026 the Stab (2020) full movie has over 361,000 views, Stab 2 has over 199,000, and Stab 4: Knife of Doom has almost 77,000.

• Joshua's Lulu author page says Lost in Oz and its sequels sat in the top 3 on Lulu's Teen Bestsellers list for over seven years straight. His fan wiki biography says the trilogy ranked in the top 3 on the Teens Bestsellers List.
• Sources disagree on YouTube views. Joshua's Lulu bio says the Stab movies have passed 30 million views. The channel itself showed 25,236,162 views in September 2026, and the site homepage says over 25 million.
• The site first announced its full-length original as Wifey on August 16, 2016. Theta got its logo video on August 6, 2017, the same week the new StabMovies.com logo went up.
• The Stab 7 Freddy's Coming teaser went up March 1, 2017.

• The old Stab 4 part uploads describe the film as the supposed fourth sequel to the Stab series, meant to represent the no-Sidney reboot by recycling storylines and characters. The description calls it half parody, half horror.
• The Stab 6 description says its ending is one of the unused endings written for Scream 2, with changes, made because so many fans wanted to see it.
• The Stab 5 commentary description says the ending that was filmed is the second version. Joshua scrapped the first after the Scream 4 premiere, because his Stab 4 ending was almost identical to Scream 4's.
• Stab 6: Ghostface Returns credits Rachel Alexandria Arnold as assistant director, according to the commentary upload.
• The Stab 6 title sequence test shows the team dropped a colored background and changed how the T works to be more like the original Stab opening from Scream 2.

• Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter started filming in Scranton, Pennsylvania in August 2013, the first time a StabMovies.com film shot outside New Hampshire. The channel pointed out Scranton is where The Office is set.
• The Knife of the Hunter police station scene was really filmed at the Hooksett Public Library in New Hampshire.
• In the Knife of the Hunter opening, Rachel's real mother plays Mrs. Campbell and Leila Bafageeh's real sister Maryam plays her sister Carrie. The YouTube description spells the mother's name Cherry Calvette, and the site's cast list spells it Cherry Clavette.
• The Knife of the Hunter commentary says production stopped after a little over half the film was shot, and that without the lead actress the script no longer made sense.
• In November 2013 the channel still hoped to finish Knife of the Hunter in early 2014, and said filming was about halfway done. The footage was released November 30, 2013, and the January 2014 vlog covered the shutdown.
• Mark Haggett was called the best stuntman and actor Joshua could ask for in a July 2017 Samurai Jason Ghostface clip.
• Before 12 Months of Terror, True Love was released November 18, 2014, credited to executive producers Joshua Patrick Dudley and Nicole Linton. The black and white version came out February 13, 2015 for Valentine's Day.
• Sources give different dates for Cinco. The March 25, 2015 teaser said May 15, 2015. An April 11, 2015 post said May 5. A teaser called Crawl went up May 4 saying Cinco would premiere at midnight, and the site's Watch Cinco Now post is dated May 5, 2015.
• The Cinco re-release description says Cinco was the fifth and final short released under 12 Months of Terror, which was never completed. It also apologizes to viewers who said the film mixed up Cinco de Mayo with Dia de Muertos.
• The Thursday the 12th Teaser 2 description gives the premiere as March 12, 2014, an apparent typo for 2015. The film went up at midnight Eastern on March 12, 2015, which YouTube shows as March 11 on its Pacific clock, and the site's premiere post is dated March 13. 3D graphics were by Ruben A. Morales.

The YouTube uploads are dated October 30, 2022, September 30, 2023 and October 9, 2024 (Pacific time), and the site says October 10, 2024 for Knife of Doom.
• IMDb user ratings on September 17, 2026: Stab 4: Fresh Blood 6.1, Stab 5 5.2, Stab 6: Ghostface Returns 7.4, Stab 7: Knife of the Hunter 6.1, Stab 7 6.2, Stab (2020) 4.7, Stab 2 7.3, Stab 3: Holiday Horror 7.8 and Stab 4: Knife of Doom 5.7. Stab 3 rates highest.
• The kill count video for Stab 4: Knife of Doom has two typos, per its description: Andrea is spelled Andra, and the final number should read 52 kills because Kenny is not dead.
• The Stab reboot commentary was uploaded December 17, 2020 but announced January 1, 2021. The alternate ending and the extended Piper scene were both uploaded on release day, November 26, 2020, weeks before their news posts.
• A Stab 4: Knife of Doom title card was uploaded February 15, 2022, more than two years before the film came out.
• The Stab 6 photo and video credits were posted in May 2013 because Joshua forgot to make them at release, as he had for Stab 4 and Stab 5.
• The Stab 7 (2017) scenes from the TV show inside the film used a custom MTV Scream mask made by AUZ.
• Joshua's Jason GhostFace for Stab 7 was designed by Joshua and Ruben Morales. A fan's credits wrongly gave it to Beyond Disgusting Studios, who only painted it.
• Pool Party and Stab TV Scene 5, two short rough cuts from Stab 7 posted in November 2016, each have over 83,000 views.
• Stephanie Maheu took over Shannon Nightingale in Stab 5 because the original Shannon Nightingale was hurt in a car accident. The only footage with the original Shannon is the Stab 5 alternate ending.
• Joshua won his trip to the Scream 4 Hollywood premiere and announced it in a February 16, 2011 vlog.
• FantaCon 2013 was StabMovies.com's first live appearance. The 2015 FantaCon was the second, not the first.
• The site's FAQ says Stab 4 and Stab 5 were filmed with a real Buck 119, Stab 6 and later films used replica Buck 120s donated by Pop's Props, and Stab 7 used the same replicas plus a real Buck 120 that had been dulled. The fan wiki adds a digital blade for some Stab 7 shots.
