Stab 6: Ghostface Returns (2008)

The Story of Stab 6: Ghostface Returns

We never get a solid plot synopsis of Stab 6, and it’s not entirely clear what year the film opened, though we can guess it was sometime in the late ‘00s from context. We see one sequence from the film in Scream 4: Two friends — played by Lucy Hale and Shenae Grimes — are about to watch the horror film Saw IV when they get simultaneous phone calls and Facebook messages from Ghostface, who then shows up and murders them, in a manner that immediately reveals there are two killers.

No actual storyline has ever been revealed for this movie, but here's what I came up with:

Lock your doors, bolt your windows and don't answer your phones because Ghostface Returns and this time, he'll leave no survivors! Stab 6: Ghostface Returns brings us back to Woodsboro, years after the events of Stab 3: Hollywood Horror, where a new Ghost Face has their sights set on Gale Weathers (Elizabeth Banks) and her husband Dewey Riley (David Schwimmer). As the teens of Woodsboro drop like flies, Gale and Dewey must race to unmask the killer before a bomb levels the entire town.

Fun Facts

FUN FACT #1 This film was based on the Gale Weathers' book "Ghostface Returns."

FUN FACT #2 The subtitle "Ghostface Returns" was never shown in the Scream movies on posters or on screen. It was shown (not visible in the movie) on the side of the prop DVD cases sold to fans. So, it may not actually be part of the title of the film.

FUN FACT #3 This was the first time two Ghost Face killers were shown on screen at the same time. The same goes for our version of Stab 6.

FUN FACT #4 In Scream 4, it was stated that Sidney threated to sue the studio if they used her story after Stab 3, so it's safe to assume that the Sidney character wasn't used again. However, in Scream 5, the killer says “Sidney was in all the Stab movies, except the last one.” So, who's right? We don't know and apparently neither do the writers of the Scream movies.
